4th grade math reviews many of the same concepts that the students learned as third graders. Double-digit multiplication, long division, and fractions will be introduced this year. We will still be using the Go Math series, as the students have used in the past. Students will have homework most nights. Please continue to work with your students on their multiplication and division facts. Math will be hands-on as well as pencil and paper work.

Science in the fourth grade tends to be hands-on! Units I teach include scientific method, chemical and physical changes, ecosystems, fossils, and earth formations just to name a few. We will start the year doing a quick unit on science safety because we cannot do lab procedures without knowing the proper procedures of the lab.

Every Friday the students will bring home a packet of papers that has all of their papers from the week along with a weekly newsletter. Please look through this packet every weekend, as it will have important information in it. Also, read the newsletter to stay up-to-date on the latest happenings in 4th grade!
