Mr Baker

Clay Baker School Picture

Hello! My name is Mr. Clay Baker and I teach all of the language arts and social studies to the fourth graders. Language arts consists of reading, writing, and spelling. Two major aspects of 4th grade language arts is the complexity of texts we read and the overall writing process. We will be reading a wide range of texts and will be writing multi-paragraph essays both in for the formats of narrative and informative. The focus for social studies is all about OHIO! We will review the different groups of people who have inhabited this part of the country throughout history. Additionally, we cover the 3 branches of government and their roles at the federal and state level. Finally, we introduce the students to economics.

I am a 2010 graduate of Arcadia High School and I graduated from The Ohio State University in the winter of 2014. This will be my 7th year teaching at Arcadia! In addition to teaching, I am also the Varsity Boys' Basketball Coach at the school. Additionally, this fall I will be finishing my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. My wife, Allison, and I live in Findlay and are welcoming our first child into this world in November!

If you have any questions throughout the course of this school year, please feel free to reach out to me. I look forward to meeting the needs and working with all of the 4th grade students this year!
