Percentages Exploration

Introduction

Last year we worked with percentages, focusing specifically on two types of problems
1) calculating a portion of a whole using a percentage and
2) calculating a percentage.
In this exploration, we will take our percent knowledge and understanding further by working with another type of percentage calculation called, percent change.

Summary

During the exploration, we will be using different links to practice. There will be due dates for the assignments and you will need to keep track of the due dates. When you complete work, make sure you see me (Mrs. Seery) so you can check your work and move yourself on to the next task. To finish the exploration, you will be asked to write a series of your own percentage problems using all types and include an answer key and you will be taking a traditional test.

Work Guidelines and Expectations

For each task that you complete -
- Organize your paper with the title of the assignment and your name. When answering the questions, write the number of each problem, along with all of the work that you do to figure out the answer to each one.

-While you may use a calculator, make sure you still do all of the work.

- Pay attention to the due dates so you are staying on task.

- To help balance your time, you may move ahead with the tasks as long as you see me to check and turn in each assignment.
