Mrs Griffin

About Mrs. Griffin

This is Mrs. Griffin's 38th year of teaching music and her first year at Arcadia.  She has taught band, choir, general music and has directed over 30 high school musicals. Mrs. Griffin taught at  Norwayne High School near Wooster, Ohio; Vicksburg Community Schools in Vicksburg, Michigan; Spencerville Local Schools and Arlington Local Schools before coming to Arcadia.
Mrs. Griffin serves as an adjudicator for OMEA and was the D3 OMEA Honor Choir Chairperson for 12 years. She is currently the D3 Choir mentor.   Choirs under her leadership have earned 33 State Superior Ratings at Large Group Contest.  

Mrs. Griffin is a graduate of Vanlue High School and has a BA in Music Education with an emphasis in instrumental music from Mount Vernon Nazarene University.  She received her Masters from Marygrove College in Detroit, Michigan and has studied choral conducting at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan and at the University of Akron. 
Mrs. Griffin is married to Rev. Rob Griffin and they have served as music and worship leaders in the Church of the Nazarene for 37 years.  They have two grown children, Jonathan, who is a major in the US Air Force and Elizabeth who is a middle school teacher at Van Wert Middle School. 
Mrs. Griffin's motto has been "You change your world, when you change your mind!!"  She has been able to witness so many students find their passion because they gave choir or musical a try... Music makes a difference in our lives! 
Mrs. Griffin is excited to be a part of  Arcadia School!
