The Arcadia Preschool is in session Mondays through Thursdays. We have an AM session (7:35 - 10:35 am) and a PM session (11:45 - 2:45 pm).
We are a special needs preschool that services children ages 3-5 years old who qualify with significant delays in the areas of speech/language, fine motor and large motor abilities, behavior, cognitive, and/or social/emotional. We are an inclusive classroom of children with special needs and typically developing peers who serve as role models.
Our class ratio is 1 adult per 8 students with a maximum of 16 students. We serve preschoolers with qualifying special needs in the Arcadia School District.
Our preschool is state licensed and follows the preschool standards set forth by the State of Ohio. Our program was awarded a 5 Star Award under the Ohio Department of Education and the Job and Family Services Step Up To Quality. Step Up To Quality is a Five-Star Tiered Quality Rating and Improvement System created to recognize and promote early learning and development programs that meet quality standards over and above the health and safety licensing requirements.
Our program follows developmentally appropriate practices (DAP), implementing the DLM Early Childhood Express, Incredible Flexible You and Phonemic Awareness Heggerty curricula.
Mrs. Lynn Vera is the preschool teacher along with paraprofessionals, Ms. Dana Desgranges and Mrs. Chelsea Beery. Together we make a very fun loving team who loves to teach young children! We are VERY excited for the school year!
If you suspect your child (age 3-5) may have developmental delays in one or more of the areas mentioned above, please contact preschool supervisor Donna Losiewicz from the Hancock County Educational Service Center at 419-422-7525 for further information.
Information for the peer model screening and enrollment is available on the Peer Model page.
